When did you join Littleport Brass?



When did you start playing and on what instrument?

I started playing when I was 10 years old - instrument: Cornet


Who was your inspiration when you started playing?

I lived in London and admired James Shepherd who my father thought was the only cornet player of that generation who could match Richard Cobb. When I was a teenager I heard Philip Smith


Why do you enjoy playing at Littleport?

The former MD knew I hadn't played for a while and asked if I'd like too start playing again


What has been your most enjoyable moment so far with Littleport in terms of music performed, social events, contests or concerts?

First contest at Oxford when we performed our entertainment programme. Playing in a packed Ely Cathedral at Christmas is always enjoyable. Any event with this band is sociable

What would you like to achieve with Littleport in the future?

Get my playing back to the level it was 35 years ago

Away from Littleport what else do you like to do?

I am a self-employed commercial lawyer, which I still enjoy. For sheer fun motorsport, and anything involving my children and grandson
